In each club, we offer a full-service tanning salon with state of the art UV tanning, spray tanning, and HydoMassage® equipment. Our Rest & Relaxation goes above and beyond R&R to provide members with an upscale salon experience. Each club's staff is complete with individual tanning specialists, who are specially trained and certified to address our members UV and Sunless tanning needs. At Fitness Ventures, we believe in a full service approach to looking and feeling your best!
Do I really need to wear eyewear while tanning indoors?
Yes. Your eyes are very sensitive to UV light. The FDA requires that all tanners wear FDA approved eyewear when tanning indoors. Placing a towel over your face or sunglasses are not enough protection. At Crunch Fitness we carry custom eyewear costing just a few dollars.
What is the benefit of using lotion in the tanning bed?
You will see some color after only your first session. After about 3 or 4 sessions you will see you are on your way to building your base tan. Once you have achieved your desired tan maintaining it becomes relatively easy! Generally speaking 2 to 3 times per week will help you keep your tan looking golden brown! With your Peak, Peak Plus, or Peak Results membership you will have access to the beds on each visit; federal regulations mandate only one tanning session every 24 hours.
How long will the tanning process take and how often can I come?
The most important reason for using a tanning lotion is that it replaces the depleted moisture that your skin loses during the tanning process. Dry skin reflects UV light, so if you are not using an indoor tanning lotion, you can be wasting up to 60% of your tanning session. If you have fair skin you will actually reflect a certain percentage of the UV light. Just by applying lotion, you will increase your tanning potential. We partner exclusively with Devoted Creations to ensure our Crunch members are offered the highest quality tanning lotions.
What about Sunless?
All but one of our locations features sunless tanning. A sunless tan with the precision of airbrush, but in the privacy of your own booth. The result is a golden glow that is 3 to 5 shades darker than your natural skin and can last 5 to 7 days. You'll see your spray tan develop fully within 12 hours – all without UV exposure!
